As bad as last week was, this week has been the highlight of the year. I was healthy, but since I don't remember more than one day at a time, I only know that today was the best. I managed to go to aerobics, have lunch with a friend, do all my jobs and I won the red wine pot : )
My house got cleaned (not by me) and I went to see friends. Top of the pops.

Judy Judy..this is for you. I seriously suspect that nobody reads this.. But who cares, anyway?

Yesterday we had an international christmas party at the Safnahús. It was so much fun, we began of course, with presentations of countries, then we ate (there was plenty of food) and then we played and joked ; ) At last we danced... I haven't had so much fun since my birthday party at december 2nd. It seems like I am always having fun, on Saturday there is the family Christmas dinner party, then there is New years Eve and I have been invited to a party the second weekend in January. My husband is not very happy and says that I would definately not let him party so much... alone...

Christmas was nice, we were late as usual, but the food turned out very good. Cora brought us some Phillipean food which I served along with our traditonal food. Which is lobster with saffran sauce for a starter, beef Wellington for a main course and homemade icecream for desert. Everyone was full of food.... we opened the presents and didn't finish that until 11:30. I got a warm and fury sweater, a book, 2 dvds + the complete 2nd series of Deperate housewives...

Again in Akranes at the library - doing the same thing as yesterday. I was very happy today because I got results from registration I did for a young foreign couple, but I was also rather pissed because I lost some money, probably the money just fell from my pocket. I say - one should never carry cash - alway use a credit card - it is saver.

I look forward to a very busy weekend, I have a deadline in Stykkishólmur, but I also have to teach. On Saturday night I want to go to a polish cultural festival! But it is in Snæfellsnes, so I don't know.

I'm in a course learning about NLP - I think - in Akranes. I always bring the computer with me, where ever I go, just in case if I can go online. The course is taking place at the library and here is a hot spot for computers. Other women brought their knittings!!

The earth is now covered with snow and the roads are very slippery. Yesterday my son wrecked our car, but fortunately he is safe and unharmed. I think he is a very lucky guy. I was self rather frightened when I was driving home from Snæfellsnes, the trip took over 2 hours, so altogher I drove for 4 hours. The teaching in the school of settlers was very funny, we were working on evaluation of skills, producing a career file and cv. I think this is very important for foreigners, as for our society - think of all the human resource we have here.

Noone seems to be reading this blog, I haven't really told anyone about it so it's not surprising. I just came back from running, I didn't run long this time, only 3,5 km, but hey I'm hurt from my fall last weekend. So 3,5 is just okay today.

I have to teach tomorrow morning, then of to do the poll. There is an open house on Sunday, again which is so much fun. Now I need to prepare for tomorrow's class, so this will not be any longer......

I'm back home from Ísafjörður, which was a lot of fun. I had not been there since 1980 something, but it really hadn't changed that much. Yesterday we arrived by a plane and the conference started at 9 o'clock. The theme of the day was marketing strategies for non-profit organisation, such as ours. We learned how to use the great but very simple tool "mind mangager" which I think will be very helpful to organise one's thoughts. The conference was held in the ski-cabin in Tungudalur.

We had a sightseeing tour in the afternoon, were invited to the life long learning center there, where we were fed with shark and dried fish, all Icelandic products, yummie, fortunately we got beer to drink with this food. Around eight we had dinner, again back at the cabin. Later we went out to a pub and partied until 2. I was very smart and didn't drink much, only water after midnight so I felt good this morning, a little tired but ok.

The thing is that the night before, I was also partying. It's like I'm young again or something, my social life is so rich at the moment. I was invited to a goodbye party which was held for the Hungarian men. I even danced Hungarian dances to Hungarian music.

Well, today we had a meeting but after lunch I went with a collague to town, where we looked at stores, had coffee and saw an exhibition at the cultural heritage center, the same house as the library, and guess what? The exhibition was Polish folk paper cuts. (cut outs). Lovly.

I'm back home as I said, but really I am at work, preparing tomorrows lessons.
