Friday, September 29, 2006 ( 3:55 PM ) Gudrun Vala Well, since Judy has been begging me to write an English blog I will. Only for you Judy and all my other great friends all over the world!!!!! (it's true, I have some) I don't think I will find it difficult to blog in English. Actually I like expressing myself in that language. I have sometimes been mistaken for an American; for example did Judy think I was one, Ben did so too, but the strangest thing was deep down in the salt mines of Wilecka, going up in an elevator which was heavily stuffed, when this French man, standing next to me (or should I say - we were forced to squeese very close to each other) when he asks me where I come from. Before I have time to answer he replyes as to himself ,,Oh obviously you're American". I resisted the urge to pretend being one and make a joke, but corrected him, and told him that I was from Iceland - which I am not sure he bought. Another bizarre happening also took place in an elevator, but this time in Copenhagen. I had helped an elderly couple with their luggage and now we were heading upstairs the three of us, when the man looks at my cowboyboots and says "you must be from Texas". "Oh no I´m not even American" I replyed, adding to his confusion. As I certainly do not look like an American, despite my little extra weight (which is these f***ing days a solid western problem)so it must have something to do with my character and accent. I am not shy and rather an outgoing and open person. Epecially when I speak English because then I am travelling (I guess) or spending time with foreigners. Which is truly my cup of tea. This will do for now, but I promise to write a little something everyday. Oh, no I take that back. Every week, ok? #
